Looking ahead and Middlebury Carnival Pictures

Someone asked if we had any snow......
March is Championship month for us and we are excited for some great racing. The SMS Team has had an excellent winter and it is always fun to end with big races.

Consider these fun facts:
The five Nordic SMS Seniors were accepted at every college they applied to this year (UVM, Utah, DU, UNH, Middlebury, Dartmouth).
13 of our 14 high school age skiers have qualified for the NE JO team and will compete in Presque Isle. (The only one who did not qualify for JO’s will be racing in The NE J2 Festival and the Eastern High School Championships.)
We had 3 skiers qualify for the USST J1 trip to Finland.
We had alumnae skiing at World Junior Championships, World Cups and the Olympics.

Add to this the long list of alums skiing competitively in college and you can see why we’re smiling.

Here are some pictures from the Middlebury Carnival/EISA Championships. It was a beautiful day and fun to see a bunch of alums racing for their college teams. The girls raced 15 km and the boys 20km.
Sophie leading the Dartmouth break away. These 3 skied away from the pack and were over a minute and a half ahead of 4th place at the finish.
Stephanie hammers the last hill.
Anya charging to the finish.
Cam and Hilary cheered loudly for their Middlebury teammates (Hilary lost her voice).
Danielle hangs with Izzy after her race.
Patrick hanging tough.
Fritz looking good in UVM green.
Harrison Harb skiing for UNH.
Chase did not have the gas today, but he had a solid top 10 yesterday.
